Art lover turned art creator.

I have always had an interest and ability to create art. I’m sure this is how every crafter’s story starts, but it’s true. In elementary school, I won art competitions. I joined an art club in middle. In high school, I was in Advanced Studio Art classes and voted Most Artistic by my graduating class. This art theme has followed me my entire life. I pursued fine arts focused degrees and then suddenly, for many reasons, went in a completely different direction. Life happened. I settled into my non-art career and started a family.

My first born is very interested in arts & crafts. While working on projects together, I realized that I really missed having some sort of art in my life. I found joy in creating jewelry, painting glass works and pottery design. After many years of simply dabbling in these projects, I have decided that creating items and sharing even just a little bit of this joy with others was the best decision. So, here we are…

Why did I name my shop Burlap Studios? I didn’t want to be limited by a name. Being able to create whatever I want with any medium possible is half of the fun. Each item sold from Burlap Studios will be packaging in its own burlap bag or cloth, no matter the size. By wrapping each item in one of the art world’s oldest mediums, my hope is that you be able to enjoy these gifts for a lifetime.
